The basics

What is Curryillion?

Curryillion is a free daily basketball trivia game. Every day there are seven prompts about NBA players, teams and stats, with 24 seconds for each. Any correct answer scores, but rarer answers score more, up to 100 points for the hidden One in a Curryillion answer.

Is Curryillion free?

Yes. It is free to play in any modern browser, with no download and no account.

Can I play Curryillion on this site?

Yes. Our homepage embeds the original game so you can play next to the guides. If the embed does not load, the Pop out button opens the game in its own window.

Is Curryillion an official NBA game?

No. Curryillion is a fan-made game and is not affiliated with the NBA, its teams or players. This site is also independent and is not run by the game's creator.

Why is it called Curryillion?

The name riffs on "one in a zillion" and on rare-answer trivia games like Krillion, with a basketball twist. The rarest answer on each prompt is the "One in a Curryillion".

Playing the game

How many questions are in Curryillion?

Seven prompts per day. Everyone gets the same seven.

How long do I have for each prompt?

24 seconds, like an NBA shot clock. You see the prompt alone for a few seconds before the answer box opens.

What happens if I guess wrong?

Nothing except lost time. Keep guessing until you land a correct answer or the clock runs out. There is a limit on guesses per prompt, so avoid spamming random names.

Do I need perfect spelling?

No. If your guess is close to a valid answer, the game offers the correction. Accents, periods, capital letters and "Jr." do not matter.

Do retired players count?

Yes. Unless a prompt says otherwise, "player" means any NBA player in history, past or present.

Can I answer with a team?

On some prompts, yes, and former team names work too.

Does Curryillion work on mobile?

Yes. It runs in mobile browsers. On a phone, tap Fullscreen under the game for more room to type.

Scoring

How does Curryillion scoring work?

Each correct answer lands on a rarity tier: Layup +10, Free Throw +25, Three Pointer +45, Half Court +70 and One in a Curryillion +100. No correct answer before the buzzer is a Brick worth 0. Read scoring explained.

What is the highest possible score?

700: the One in a Curryillion answer on all seven prompts.

What is a good Curryillion score?

Landing a Free Throw on every prompt is 175 and a Three Pointer on every prompt is 315, so anything above those is strong. Use our score calculator to check a result.

What do the emoji squares mean?

🟥 One in a Curryillion, 🟪 Half Court, 🟦 Three Pointer, 🟩 Free Throw, ⬜ Layup and ⬛ Brick (time ran out).

Daily puzzle & streaks

What time does Curryillion reset?

Midnight Eastern Time every day. That is 9:00 pm Pacific. The countdown under the game shows the exact time left.

Can I play more than once a day?

No. There is one game per day so everyone plays the same puzzle.

Where can I see the answers?

After you finish, the box score lists every valid answer for each prompt. We publish spoiler-free hints instead of answers.

Why did my streak reset?

Progress is stored in your browser. Clearing site data, switching browser or device, using private browsing, or switching between the embedded game and curryillion.com can each start a fresh history.
